Holgate Working with the Community

On Friday 17th May 2013 an enthusiastic team of people from Shoosmiths and Eon took part in Give and Gain Day. Give and Gain Day is the UK’s only national day of employee volunteering. Every year since 2008, it has given companies a unique opportunity to bring community action to life, whether they're just starting out on the volunteering journey or a veteran of it.
“By making volunteering, fun, accessible and inspirational we want to make it something that all businesses allow their staff to do in work time. Volunteering offers employees personal and professional growth, as well as increasing loyalty and motivation.” (Give and Gain Website)

Boosting Holgate
The Hucknall Rotary Club

On Wednesday 1st May, Music and Drama Students from Holgate were invited by the president of the Hucknall Rotary Club, to provide entertainment at the club’s annual Afternoon Tea Event for the “Over-73s” of Hucknall.
The event has been running since the end of the Second World War, and so is seen as a most prestigious event. The Holgate Friday All-Stars attended in force, and performed “Dance With Me Tonight”, “Live and Let Die”, “Seven Nation Army” and “Little Brown Jug” The audience absolutely loved the music and singing, and the band were treated to massive whoops and cheers when they had finished.
