The Holgate Learning Resource Centre is a great venue for students to develop their independent learning skills.
There is an excellent selection of Books, Fiction and Non-Fiction, which can be used throughout the year for lessons, homework and research. Students are also able to borrow books from the Library to take home to read. There are also 25 computers that can be used before school, during Break, Lunch and after school. These computers can be reserved for Lunch at Break time.
The recently developed Book Box system allows tutors to have a varied selection of Books for tutor time, a great way of encouraging students to get reading. The Resource Centre is often the venue for after school study sessions, enabling students to get the most from their studying all year round. It is also the home of the Holgate School Book Club. Based within the Resource Centre is the careers Library. This provides students with general information, college and university prospectuses and career focused folders. The Holgate Learning Resource Centre is an excellent place for students to develop their skills in reading, research and learning, and is available to everyone at the school.
