On Wednesday 13th March 2013, Holgate hosted a stargazing event with the Nottingham Astronomical Society. The astronomers brought four professional telescopes along to set up in the school grounds and we were really lucky to have beautifully clear skies for the majority of the night. 

 

The turnout was fantastic and students and their families were able to see the craters on the moon, stars, Jupiter and 3 of Jupiter’s moons. Inside experts were on hand to answer astronomy related questions and we even had a real meteor to hold.
